Al-Fatiha

ٱلۡفَاتِحَةِ

أعوذُ بِٱللَّهِ مِنَ ٱلشَّيۡطَٰنِ ٱلرَّجِيمِ
O Allah, I seek refuge in you from the accursed Satan
بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
I start with the name of ALLAH, very beneficient and merciful.
ٱلْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ رَبِّ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ

۝

1:1

[All] praise is [due] to Allāh, Lord1 of the worlds - Footnote - 1 When referring to Allāh (subḥānahu wa taʿālā) , the Arabic term "rabb" (translated as "Lord") includes all of the following meanings: "owner, master, ruler, controller, sustainer, provider, guardian and caretaker."

Tafseer
ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

۝

1:2

the Most Compassionate, Most Merciful,

Tafseer
مَـٰلِكِ يَوْمِ ٱلدِّينِ

۝

1:3

Sovereign of the Day of Recompense.1 Footnote - 1 i.e., repayment and compensation for whatever was earned of good or evil during life on this earth.

Tafseer
إِيَّاكَ نَعْبُدُ وَإِيَّاكَ نَسْتَعِينُ

۝

1:4

It is You we worship and You we ask for help.

Tafseer
ٱهْدِنَا ٱلصِّرَٰطَ ٱلْمُسْتَقِيمَ

۝

1:5

Guide us to the straight path -

Tafseer
صِرَٰطَ ٱلَّذِينَ أَنْعَمْتَ عَلَيْهِمْ غَيْرِ ٱلْمَغْضُوبِ عَلَيْهِمْ وَلَا ٱلضَّآلِّينَ

۝

1:6

The path of those upon whom You have bestowed favor, not of those who have earned [Your] anger or of those who are astray.
